Our mission is to create awareness of mental health and well being by educating the community, practicing compassion, and cultivating hope. Our ministry welcomes, supports and includes all parishioners living with mental illness and their families. Mental illness is often seen as an invisible disability. By shining the light of Christ’s love and welcoming all, we hope to erase the stigma associated with mental illness, and encourage all to share their unique God-given talents.
Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches the skills needed to recognize and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges, as well as how to provide someone with initial support until they are connected with appropriate professional help. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
